Our Team

Deirdre Patten

Deirdre started her career in the 80s, specializing in training and compliance for the Financial Services industry. Since then, she has worked with thousands of financial services professionals to help them obtain their securities qualification exams. In 2011 Deirdre was selected as woman of the year from the National Association of Professional Women.  She has also served as President on the Board of Directors for the Securities and Insurance Licensing Association (SILA) as well as VP and Trustee for the SILA Foundation. She teaches all FINRA, NYSE, MSRB and NASAA series exams, and provides regulatory compliance solutions.

Cass Garner

Cass brings more than 25 years of securities industry experience to Patten Training. He has worked on the FINRA regulatory side and across the industry in sales, trading, operations, supervision, and compliance. From debt underwriting to acquisitions to wealth management, Cass has served as consultant and principal for numerous organizations. A self-described “compulsive test taker,” Cass has tackled many license exams, including insurance, real estate, securities, and the certified public accountant (CPA) Exam. He applies this perspective and passion to dynamic education development and delivery.

DeAnn Orie

DeAnn is responsible for contributing to the educational department as a researcher, writer, copy editor, and designer. She brings to the team her many years of experience as a project manager and managing editor at an industry-recognized compliance publication, where she was also responsible for event project management, the online newsletter and e-Book creation, and print magazine management. DeAnn is an experienced editor, designer, and project manager, with a demonstrated history of virtual event management, content editing, magazine oversight, and online publication design.
